English Abstract

The present article views quality in higher education as outcome-oriented and consequently examines students‘ learning outcomes. The author advocates the use of application-oriented questions in written examinations: If a university wants to enhance the quality of its teaching and if students are to reach the highest possible level of competence, examinations must be application-oriented as well as varied and reflect the lessons in proportion to both content and the level of difficulty. As a number of findings confirm, the more the different kinds of examinations are considered, the more fundamental the influence is not only on the students’ learning but also on the quality in education.
