English Abstract

How do we encounter culture day to day? How does culture leave a mark on our daily life? What distinguishes culture? Does culture happen or is it - actively - produced? And if so, how and by whom? And first and foremost: can each of us produce culture? These questions and many more are taken up by the educational project "I am a Cultural Producer," which took place from 2011 to 2012 as a cooperative project between Salzburg University and the Mozarteum University, Salzburg. It was designed and carried out by both authors in conjunction with the students. The topic of the project was how culture and thus individual spaces for action could be shaped publicly by local interventions and collaborative project organization.
