English Abstract

The present article describes the project "LEA – Lernend Altern" (learning while ageing), that provides access to continuing education via e-learning to older people previously excluded because of limited mobility. The course offerings avoid the standard obstacles to access in technical, communicative and organisational dimensions thanks to consistently lower thresholds oriented to the participants. Three basic tools for communicating synchronously and asynchronously and distributing the course materials are responsible for this, and each is presented briefly in the article. In the pilot phase, the feasibility was demonstrated using two different course formats and numerous ideas were collected in the accompanying research about how e-learning offerings can be established for the target group of older people.
