Die Wiener Volkshochschulen setzen eigens entwickelte Verfahren zur Qualitätsentwicklung ein: das Weißbuch Programmplanung zur Weiterentwicklung des Programmangebotes, die Unterrichtsreflexion zur Optimierung des Lehr-Lernprozesses und zur Unterstützung der Lehrenden sowie interne Entwicklungs- und Evaluationsworkshops, die die Organisation und das Team in den Mittelpunkt stellen.

English Abstract

The present article describes the measures and processes employed by the Vienna Adult Education Centres (Wiener Volkshochschulen GmbH in German) to provide successful learning, counselling and services based on continuous quality assurance, a balanced educational offer and high quality instruction. Three instruments are critical to the ongoing quality development process: the "Programme Planning" White Paper that aims to continue developing the educational programmes offered at the Vienna Adult Education Centres; the systematic reflection on instruction that focuses on optimising teaching and learning processes and supporting instructors; and in-house development and evaluation workshops that centre on the organisation and the team. The focal points of the educational work of the Vienna Adult Education Centres are the development of educational offers, the promotion of "successful learning", and the strengthening of the organisation.
